ABOUT THE FILM
The feature-length documentary NORITA is a journey through the history of the 1970s dictatorship in Argentina, an era in which protagonist Norita’s son Gustavo was kidnapped and disappeared by the ruling military; journeying through to the present day where the so-called feminist "green wave" is expanding from Argentina to the world. The personal and family tragedy of Norita, a pioneer of human and social rights, forms the genesis of her unwavering determination and intrepid activism, which leads her to co-found the renowned Mothers of Plaza de Mayo resistance movement in 1977 and to emerge, again and again on the political scene, including in 2018 as a central figure in Argentina’s movement to legalize abortion.
